Children’s Lending Library

We are an English library with a wonderful collection of English books as well as fun activities and games. We organise events and readings throughout the year for children of all ages. Our community is made up of volunteers, the English-speaking community and everyone who loves to read!

We have books from early readers to junior fiction, from picture books to graphic novels. So pick a book, take a look! Who knows what you will see?

A library and a community

It’s that time of year: the shadows get longer, the days shorter and we start to think…Halloween!

We miss you all so much but of course we must consider that we are still not out of this pandemic. Therefore this year we are offering a small outdoor Halloween party for children (6-10) in the lovely garden of St.James church on Sunday, October 31 from 4:00-5:30pm with time to visit the library after the party from 5:30-6:30 pm.

The party is open to a very limited number of library members (you can sign up at the gate) and free of charge, but we will ask for a 15.00 euro deposit per family which will become a full membership as soon as we can assure longer opening hours.

Our opening hours for now are limited to Sundays from 10:30AM-12:30PM

To reserve kindly send a WhatsApp message to +39 333 3271116. We ask you limit the number of accompanying adults (one adult necessary).

No beverages or food will be served and in compliance with the Italian government decree all participants must have a Green Pass and wear masks.

Hurry to reserve!

The Children’s Lending Library volunteer committee

we will be open again every Sunday morning from 10:30am to 12:30pm and starting March 3, 2022 we will also be open on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 to 6:00pm

International Mother Language Day is observed every year on February 21 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world.

Beelingual and The Children’s Lending Library will celebrate this day on Sunday, February 20 in Florence at the Giardino dell’Orticoltura in via Vittorio Emanuele II N.4 from 10:30am till 12:30 pm. Mothers from various countries will share stories about traditions, food, games and tonguetwisters from their native lands and teach the children a fewwords in their language. Everyone is welcome.

Don’t miss the fun!
